Project Details

Sometimes our systems need to work with other systems already in use by our client. This isn’t a problem for us. For DNRE, our software needed to complement their existing Asset Management system, Oracle Financials, by allowing the storage of audit data from each and every DNRE land parcel, building or structure in the State. It then needed to present this data to a technically and geographically disperse user base.

The audit was undertaken by a third party and gathered three data types... CAD floorplates of every building, a digital image of every building and condition data of every building and some financial valuations.

One of the key features of the solution is that it enables relatively inexperienced users to access detailed Oracle Financials data via Apertures simple visual navigation and query tools. This has enabled DNRE staff to confirm the asset register stored in Oracle accurately reflects the known situation at the ‘coal face’, and indeed has led to regional staff identifying assets of which they were previously unaware!

The system won the Australian FMA award for the best FM systems technology.
