FAQ

When was FM Innovations established?

Ray Lodge and Kris Greenwood established FM Innovations in June 1997

How many staff do you have?

We have 12 permanent staff and a number of consultants around Australia assisting with project implementation

Is WSM web based?

WSM is both web based and client server based. The web enablement ensures the majority of employees and contractors can access the system (if authorised to) from any browser anywhere in the world.

How long does WSM take to set up and get operational?

This can vary but for most clients it takes between 3 weeks to 2 months.  But the most important aspect is that we will work within your time frames and the whole system will be effortless to migrate.

Is WSM off-the-shelf?

WSM can be implemented as it exists off the shelf, but the biggest gains come from contracting FM Innovations to customise the software to meet your unique business requirements.

Is the system SQL based?

Yes it operates on either SQL Server or Oracle databases.

Can FM Innovations help us migrate our existing data to WSM?

FM Innovations specialises in this capability and so we can help your organisation plan and execute its transition to the WSM software platform and business solution.

Am I limited in who I can allow to use the system?

The system can accommodate for however many users you require. Though some users will need greater access rights and these are paid for, but for 95% of all your users there is no charge for the use of the system or the software to facilitate this.

Is FM Innovations an Australian company?

Yes we are, and most of our clients are around Australia.  However, we do have a number of international clients and ongoing interest coming from overseas.

Can you import information from a Spreadsheet, such as MS Excel, into the WSMenterprise system?

Yes this can be done very simply.  The spreadsheet does need to be formatted correctly, however we will work with you to ensure all data is correctly transferred.

Can you import information from WSMenterprise into a Spreadsheet, such as MS Excel?

Yes.  All with the click of a button.

Can I use bar codes in WSM?

Yes, they can be read and managed by WSM.

Can I manage my Essential Safety Measures Inspections with WSM?

Yes, this is simple to setup and the system automatically reminds your key personnel when the inspections have to be done and when they are missed or overdue.

Does WSM store my paper documents for me?

Yes these can be scanned into WSM database where they are easily retrieved for future reference.

How Browser/OS independent are the web features of WSMenterprise and Aperture Space management? Do they require a plug-in to be able to view and or print a floor plan?

The WSMenterprise and Aperture VWS solutions are built on .Net platforms 1 & 2. Thus it lends itself to Internet Explorer and Firefox browsers. No plug-ins or other browser modifications are downloaded or required to view any data that can be retrieved except where internal documents are stored within the system such as PDF's, Word, CAD, video or audio file types. Aperture VWS (Visual Web Server) publishes dynamically floor/site plans from its database and allows the printing and saving (via PDF) requiring no additional software at the browser end.

Does WSM work over multiple timezones?

Yes.

Will WSM link in with my financial software?

Yes.  We can link into almost every financial software program.  Information can be sent both ways, from one system to another automatically.  Therefore invoice numbers are automatically linked between systems.
