Date settings within WSM are taken directly from your PC. To check your settings go to the Control Panel and click on Regional Language and Options. Make sure your Regional Options and Advanced Settings are set to English (Australia).

To select an object by using certain criteria like room number or employee name, go to select in the menu. From there choose 'Select via Database', then choose record type and field name. Filter the results using the operators and search expansion.

Harmonising OHS legislation across Australia

Green Building Fund Update
Greenhouse gas emissions will be cut by around 38,000 tonnes a year through 37 green building projects announced today by Senator Kim Carr, Minister for Innovation, Industry, Science and Research.“$16.4 million worth of projects make up the third round of the $90 million Green Building Fund, a Rudd Government initiative that reduces energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by retro-fitting commercial office buildings,” Senator Carr said.

Automatic Door Hold Open Devices
Dorgard Acoustic is a device designed to hold open a fire or smoke door safely, automatically releasing upon the sound of a fire or smoke alarm. It can be used to hold the door in any position between open or closed. Dorgard Acoustic is a more cost effective means of legally holding open fire and smoke doors, compared to a fully wired electromagnetic door hold open devices. It eliminated the need for expensive hard wiring of the door hold open device. “No wires, no worries!”

FM Innovations welcome two new clients
FM Innovations would like to welcome two more clients to its expanding portfolio of companies. FM Innovations is proud to announce the owner 500 Collins Street (Melbourne) and 39 Hunter Street (Sydney), Kador Group, will be working closely with FM Innovations to further develop the unique WSM Property Lease Management Module. We would also like to introduce Morton and Morton, the 2007 winners of the REI NSW Agency of the Year. Morton and Morton will be using the WSMresidential product to manage their Works maintenance requirements. Both these companies are leaders in their field and will use FM Innovations software to further enhance their organisation.
Victoria University purchases Vehicle Management and Property Lease Management
Victoria University has recently purchased WSM Vehicle Management and WSM Property Lease Management to integrate with their existing modules; WSM Works Management and Aperture Space Management. Victoria University also recently launched their VU Facilities Service Desk that utilises Aperture Space Management to track room utilisation and bookings. More information will be in the next newsletter.

Siemens Live
Siemens have recently gone live with the Activity based costing system developed by FMI. Ray Lodge and Suzanne Gormley from FM Innovations are helping Siemens SRE expand their aperture portfolio of properties under the Aperture Space Management program.
Workcover NSW
Workcover NSW has gone live with their WSM project which includes the Works Management module and Property Lease Management module. These systems will be used to manage all the maintenance requests and key property lease dates. Catherine Wilson at Workcover NSW has been instrumental in bringing the project to this point.
Department of Primary Industries
The Department of Primary Industries has recently accepted a proposal to upgrade to Aperture VWS. Aperture VWS is a Visual Web Server that will allow DPI to manage all their Space requirements on the Internet.
BRIT
The FM Innovations developers have almost finalised the new Contract Management system for BRIT. This new module will store, track, plan and manage all present, past and future contracts. The contract management module will be able to be purchased in December. BRIT are also going Live with the Vehicle management system. Lindy Phegan and Andrew Walker at BRIT initially approached FM Innovations to design a new module that will help them manage their vehicles and transportation methods with the resulting Vehicle Management system being designed.
Savills
Savills has begun integrating WSMindustrial with MRI and their induction supplier induction program. By linking these three systems together WSM can ensures all contractor accreditations and financial data remains consistent across the organisation.
UMS
After rigorous testing over the past few months UMS has gone Live with Finance 1 integration. This continues to highlight FM Innovations ability to successfully integrate with other systems on the market.
FM Innovations WebinarsTo expand FM Innovations customer service philosophy we have held WSMenterprise 4.5 and Works Management webinars over the past few months. These webinars have allowed a select group of clients to see new features and additional benefits to WSM. These webinars will continue in the future with other modules featured. GJK Facility Services shares in the praise of Exxon Mobile award
Exxon’s Head Office in Australia at Southbank was recently presented with the ‘President’s Award for Safety’ for the whole of Australasia, which covers all the refineries and administration buildings within the region.
Due to the volatile nature and safety requirements of its fuel refinery business, Exxon Mobil is extremely stringent with their Occupational, Health and Safety (OH&S) practices, and this policy extends to external maintenance service providers and facility services providers such as GJK Facility Services.
GJK Facility Services IMS Audit success
As part of GJK Facility Services ongoing commitment to best practice management processes and sustainable outcomes, GJK implemented the Integrated Management System in April 2004. This system is made up of three accredited standards, and these standards are externally audited by third party accreditation auditor, SAI Global.
