Green Team Update

GJK_green_team.png

GJK Facility Services has been actively working towards the development of a sustainable environmental plan, both at a management level and at the ground level in our Head Office. Staff from each department have been put into Green Teams focusing on minimising our carbon footprint across a number of key areas including: transport, water, energy, paper, waste management, and green procurement.

The Green Team focusing on waste management has had great success with the implementation of two central waste and recycling stations, and the removal of all desk wastepaper baskets. Following initial education and training sessions on recycling, staff have adapted quickly to the new waste management system – embracing the challenge to be more conscientious about what we throw away each day.

Our Head Office has also made great progress in improving our energy footprint, and are now proud to be using 50 per cent green energy.
