Holmesglen

FM Innovations (FMI) have just completed an assessment and restructuring of the Holmesglen WSM and Aperture configuration to bring it in line with Holmesglens changing business needs. This project was undertaken with Holmesglen personnel and FM consultants Apex FM will result in a completely new naming structure for the organisations physical infrastructure.
This has meant getting up to date CAD plans drawn up and loaded into the Aperture system combined with a lessor emphasis on FMIST’s data structures and more on local Holmesglen management needs. This combined with preparing the data and the process to meet the opportunity of using elements of the new WSM 4.2 system has meant that Holmesglen and its data are well positioned to go into 2009 with a more comprehensive service delivery to their internal and contract client base.
The project assesses their current data and its accuracy, then gathered the necessary up to date data and organised this so that it was loaded into a newly designed computer interface and data structure. This combined with revamped outputs from Aperture has transformed the database from an outdated set of data to a modern online real time system for use in all parts of the TAFE.
Already John Thompsons team are planning for an exciting future ahead by using these modern tools in their day to day work.
Sydney West Area Health Service (SWAHS)

This project is now coming to completion which has seen a vast amount of redrafting of all major hospitals and their facilities in the last 4 months. This has meant literally thousands of hours and hundreds of CAD files being produced which has enabled SWAHS to better address the ongoing problem of Capital Charging regime and cost recovery within the NSW Health system.
In addressing the immediate and pressing needs for accurate spatial information SWAHS undertook some 12 months ago a project to better manage their capital charging and space management requirement. With funding becoming and issue in all Health Facilities this was seen by senior management as a proactive way of better managing their finite resources in the facilities that they must utilise. Under a dynamic leadership of Rosie Bonham the project went through various management stages and hurdles before getting underway seriously in September 2008. It will be installed and completed at SWAHS by the end of 2008 calendar year.
FMI’s role was to provide an effective upgrade to the ageing HealthAMMS system in NSW Health to allow SWAHS to provide effective spatial management analysis and reporting to management at all levels and location within the organisation.
Victoria University

Victoria University have made a strategic decision to bring in cost charging regime to all campus activities. This has meant updating their spatial management system to assist them in managing this environment and provide all line managers with up to date and real time access to the data that supports the usage regime and the arising costs.
FMI is working with the Universities management team to design and implement a new system based on their existing Aperture spatial system so that it meets their new requirements in management this space. The system will be designed to integrate with other systems in use by the University such as Syllabus Plus and Finance 1.
This project date for full implementation is slated within a few months.
