East Gippsland TAFE has now commenced the rollout of the WSM REM room booking system for their entire set of campuses. The REM system replaces an older booking system which amongst other things allowed duplicate bookings for rooms and then didn’t properly handle the bookings across multiple sites. It caused so much confusion that in the end the system wasn’t used as people wouldn’t trust it. REM will fix all of this and moreover it will deliver a very solid and effective central control of the finite room resources needed top run their business. East Gippsland are undertaking this rollout themselves after careful evaluation and training and will certainly see the results in the next few months.
FMI the creators of WSM have announced the release of their first version of the Visitor Management system. This product development was as a result of the development for Rio Tinto and allows companies to integrate their casual visitor management with other service delivery and room booking visitors in one system. The reception function allows the production of visitor badges and the bar coding system keeps track of Visitors entering and exiting the premises. Thus making exact visitor numbers known sat any stage in the event of an emergency occurring.
FMI the creators of WSM have announced the release of their second public release of the WSM Property management system. This second release, version (4.1) enhances and expands on this product in integrates it much more tightly with the WSMenterprise system. WSM property is a >net application and so is modern and uses the latest in Microsoft technologies with the same ease of use associated with WSM enterprise modules. The management of leases, ownership records, property licenses and expense and incomes makes the ubiquitous property spreadsheet obsolete. Its reminder and alert system keeps all stakeholders aware, in a timely manner, of the status of all aspects of the property portfolio.
FMI the creators of WSM have announced that they have integrated SMS alert technology into all modules of their WSM systems. This use of SMS to send outbound alerts to system stakeholders automatically and on demand will be a useful and in some cases essential tool for ensuring timely accurate information is share d by those who need to know. This capability will be available in the Work_FM, REM and Property modules to provide that level interaction.
FMI have for years promoted Aperture Space management solution. Now this has been integrated into the WSM product line and renamed WSM Space. It initially contains the familiar and easy to use Space management component using Apertures superior technology to provide a graphical management tool utilising the latest CAD files to support the space management requirements. Also in the Space product will be the WEB based relocation management capability and web updating of all space management locations. The integration brings Space the capability to access all property, works, assets, suppliers and cost values held by WSM and use these in the management of their active locations.
