SB08 - World Sustainable Building Conference 2008

FM Innovations launched WSM Sustainability Management at the Word Sustainable Building Conference 2008 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre between Sunday September 21st - Thursday September 25th to a resounding success.  WSM Sustainability Management is the only software integrated into a day to day Property & Facility Management program.  It is our belief that effective overall environmental management needs to combine the daily works maintenance management (adhoc & planned maintenance schedules) together with the day to day management of the sustainability impacts of the building.  This reduces risk and deters liability for building owners and managers by providing a complete system that manages and assesses all your assets.

The conference focused not just on the topic of new buildings and their construction but on the retro fitting and refurbishments of existing building stock that will not only add significantly to Australia's sustainable building credentials, but will prove that building refurbishments to world leading levels provide commercial returns worthy of attracting large scale investment from private enterprises and from all levels of government.  Towards the end of the conference people were looking at ways they could analyse their current levels of energy/waste/water usage and plan for the future.  Around the FM Innovations booth there were many discussions about how the FM Innovations software will allow you to map your current environmental conditions against current industry benchmarks.  Sustainability Management allows you to look at future, past and present trends while overlaying the companies or industry benchmarks to gain a better understanding of a companies carbon footprint.
